Penumbra Writing Studio

Your story. Our pen.

Memoirs • Histories • Wisdom

Some stories you live. Some you build. We help you set them down — in your voice, under your name. The pen stays in shadow; the story is yours.

This is ghostwriting, done quietly and well.

Memoirs
Histories
Wisdom

The story of a life, told in the voice that lived it.

The record of a family, a church, an institution — kept for the community.

The ideas and hard-won lessons of a lifetime, set down to last.

How it works

01

The first conversation

We begin with a quiet conversation to uncover the heart of your story and the unique voice that holds it together.

02

The writing

Together, we craft the narrative, ensuring every sentence is written in your voice and polished with literary precision.

03

A finished book in your name

The manuscript is finalized, edited, and prepared for publication, ready to be shared with the world under your own name.

Erick Sierra

I'm Erick Sierra — a writer, teacher, reader, and the founder of Penumbra Writing Studio.

I started this studio because I kept meeting people whose stories deserved a book: lives marked by faith, work, struggle, leadership, and hard-won wisdom. Often they had lived the story but didn't have the time, training, or distance to shape it on the page.

That's where I come in. I listen closely, ask carefully, and help turn memory and experience into a book that still sounds like you. The work is intimate and collaborative, but the result belongs to you: your voice, your name, your story.

I hold a PhD in English from Rutgers University and spent sixteen years as a professor of English and director of the writing center at Trinity Christian College, where I'm now Professor Emeritus. The studio is where that work continues — one book, one voice, at a time.

Let's talk about your book
